For the record…

My son does not play video games. We do not own a game “console” or any such thing. We do, however, own a computer on which my husband used to play games and the video game controller was purchased so that he could use it for the video-game emulator to play things like Legends of Zelda (y’know, for sentimental reasons). I hate video games. I never want them in my house. Cole just likes anything with buttons so we gave him the controller.

I just wanted to be clear.

I held off until the oldest was 10 years old. Since then, it’s been boy gamers heaven around here.
    (Sigh)
    Sometimes we have to compromise.

But you are so right, they aren’t for babies. But those buttons are so colorful, mom! (smile)

I could see how the controller would be the ultimate toy.

My son is fascinated by anything with buttons. He loves the remote, the phone, the keyboard. We do have a Playstation I think, but I could not tell you the last time it was even turned on.

whatever. Video games are good for the soul. The stimulate the brain in ways to condition us for everything that is important and necessary in our society. I say, let’s hand ‘em out with the mandatory 3 nuclear weapons per child quota and the world will be a better place.
